  • During the live lesson children will watch live performances of songs from famous operas by artists of the Royal Opera; join children across the country to sing famous opera songs; go behind the scenes in the props and costumes departments; see how props, scenery and lighting transform the stage.

  • During the live lesson children will watch live performances of dances from famous ballets by dancers of the Royal Ballet; join children across the country in dancing; go behind the scenes in the props and costumes departments; see how props, scenery and lighting transform the stage.
  • No preparation or prior knowledge of ballet is required.
  • Important to note: If you do not want your child to be able to be seen by the ROH artists and children across the country please ensure that your webcam is turned off.

Everybody Make: ‘Alice’s Adventures’ – Royal Ballet & Opera Schools

  • This interactive design workshop has been created especially for Key Stage 1 & 2 children.
  • Join a stage designer in a make-along live workshop where they can make their own tree for the set for the ballet ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.’
  • Children will learn about the design process – from first model to the finished set. They will also be introduced to set design in the magical story of Alice’s Adventures. There will be a chance for children to ask the set designer questions.
  • You can download the list of basic craft materials and templates required for participation in advance of the live lesson here.

Everybody Make: ‘The Magic Flute’ – Royal Ballet & Opera Schools

  • This interactive design workshop has been created especially for Key Stage 2 children.
  • Join a stage designer in a make-along live workshop where they can make their own snake puppet from Mozart’s famous opera ‘The Magic Flute.’
  • Children will learn about the design process – from first model to the finished set. They will also discover how the set designers create the giant snake in their stage performance of ‘The Magic Flute.’ There will be a chance for children to ask the set designer questions.

Everybody Dance: ‘Alice’s Wonderland – Royal Ballet & Opera Schools

  • Introducing primary aged children to magical ballet ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.’
  • During the workshop children will learn the timeless tale of Alice’s Adventures with dances performed by dancers of the Royal Ballet. They will get to meet the characters – the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts. Children will create and then perform a short dance with other children across the country. There will be a chance to meet the artists and get inspired by real Royal Ballet dancers.
  • No preparation or prior knowledge of ballet is required.

Everybody Sing: ‘The Magic Flute’ – Royal Ballet & Opera Schools

  • Introducing primary aged children to one of the world’s most famous operas, Mozart’s beloved ‘The Magic Flute.’
  • During the workshop children will get a front row seat to the opera with songs performed by artists of the Royal Opera. They will get to meet the characters – Prince Tamino, Princess Pamina and the Queen of the Night. Children will sing along with children from across the country. There will be a chance to meet the artists and get inspired by real Royal Opera singers.
